Frequently Asked Questions.

Q: What is content management?

A: Simply put, content management solutions enable and ease the creation and management of your web site and the content it contains. This content varies from site-to-site and business-to-business but typically consists of HTML pages, PDFs, MS Word documents, images, audio and video files. Your definition of a web site can also vary: corporate or public web site, intranet, extranet, landing page, microsite, catalog, etc. But regardless of the type of site or content that exists on it there are some basic stages universal to the content management process, including:
  • Create (Author)
  • Update
  • Publish
  • Translate
  • Archive
  • Retire

Q: Is ContentManagement.com better than Open Source?

A: Yes! We’re so much easier and less expensive. We also offer a better product and an easier user interface than any Open Source tool out there. How can we say we’re less expensive? Add up the cost to select, install, implement and debug an open source system (including your time to manage that project), and then add the ongoing costs for hardware, software, security management, upgrades and support – and we come out way ahead. Our single product and shared environments make our costs much lower than even “free” Open Source software could ever be.

A: If you need help to change your templates, assistance in training new users or administrators, adding new sites or types of pages, changing workflow, or ongoing advice on web site management, an On-Demand Services Retainer is a good idea for you.
